Did you know that people with CF are actually salty? A defect within the sweat chloride chamber causes sodium in the body to rise to the skin's surface making people with CF actually sweat salt. So sodium replacement is crucial for those with CF to stay healthy and hydrated! Crazy right? And performing a "sweat test" is one of the ways that CF is diagnosed, along with a series of lab work.
